Martina Franca
This beautiful, historic town is a wonderful destination for a day trip or an evening excursion. Located within 20km of Alberobello, it easily accessible with a short drive through the stunning countryside dotted with “casedde” (famous trulli) and typical “masserie” (farmhouses). Martina Franca’s historic center is a masterpiece of baroque architecture and narrow, whitewashed alleyways in which to lose yourself as you stroll. You can visit the Basilica of San Martino and the Palazzo Ducale (historic palace of the ruling lords), where the prestigious annual Festival of the Valle d’Itria is held.
 
 
Ostuni
Traversing the Valle d’Itria toward the south you arrive at Ostuni, known as the “citta bianca” - the white city. Perched on the edge of the Murgia (limestone plateau) the town affords stunning views of the Adriatic coast just a few kilometers away. The historic center’s maze of tiny alleys and streets will fascinate you, and make for enjoyable exploration as your wander away the hours visiting the historic monuments, delicious gelaterias, cafes and unique shops.
 
 
The Caves at Castellana
Discovered in 1938, the CastellanaCaves are the largest cave system in Italy and together with Ostuni and Alberobello are one of the most popular tourist attractions in Puglia. It is possible to take tours of varying lengths, up to 3km long and down to a depth of 71m. below ground.
